Roy Eckerdt Board Member - Wyoming Roy Eckerdt began his career in the US Air Force in 1987, graduating from the USAF Police Academy in September of that year. Roy served stateside and in Germany, in leadership capacities as a fire team leader, squad leader and eventually on the squadron command staff. In 1997 Roy separated from active duty and began his civilian law enforcement career. Roy worked in several different agencies and capacities, from detention to patrol, settling in Powell, Wyoming in 2003. In 2011 he was appointed Chief of Police and has served in that capacity since. Roy is active in the community and holds Board positions with the County Prevention Organization, The County Mental Health Provider, the Domestic Violence Coalition and is a past President of the Wyoming Association of Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police. Roy has been involved with CIT since it came to Powell in 2008 and has been an advocate to expand CIT across the State of Wyoming.
