Shannon Miera

Programs Assistant

Shannon was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated with a B.A in Criminology and Spanish from the University of New Mexico.  She joined the Albuquerque Police Department in 2005 and retired with 20 years of service.  While with Albuquerque Police Department, she spent majority of her career as a patrol officer including roles as a field training officer, CIT officer and Child Abuse Response Evaluator (CARE) officer. She transitioned to a detective where she assisted with use of force and performance review.  For the last 6 years of her career, she was assigned as a CIT Coordinator with the Crisis Intervention Unit.  Her tasks included training, including CIT and reality-based evaluations, curriculum development, community stakeholder meetings/trainings and criminal justice diversion liaison. Shannon is excited to continue her journey with CIT community as a Programs Assistant with CIT International.
